About SOS Equines
April 9, 2008Well, the horses were granted their Easter Miracle! Once again, all horses listed were saved! All the yearlings have been placed into wonderful and loving homes. Phoebe was outright adopted and Almost is in QT and has a wonderful back up home offer. Leno and Speckles were adopted to a very loving home. Cowgirl is getting ready to go to her home with a very cute and loving couple who cannot wait to get her home! She already has more gifts waiting for her then I did at Christmas! Lula is safe and is probably going to retire and be spoiled! She will live out her days in peace.
Cappucino Kid has made it home safe and sound. He is now with Old Friends in Kentucky and probably thinks he is in horse heaven. Thank you to everyone who helped CK get off the lot and home to this horse haven!!
We also had other horses on the lot, Ice, Roo and Bit O'Honey. Ice was saved the last minute by his new adopter! Roo was saved by the FOBS and SOS members!! He is currently in QT and has someone very interested in adopting him!! Bit O'Honey has also been adopted and is already in her new home being pampered and loved!
We have three new horses listed, Molly, Scarlett and Iris. All are well trained and very very nice horses!
Well, we hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of spring. Thank you again for everyone's amazing support! These horses are so lucky to have everyone working as a team for them!
March 23, 2008 ~ HAPPY EASTER!Happy Easter to everyone!
Unfortunately, today, Easter Sunday, is a little stressing, as it is truck deadline day for Almost and Phoebe. Thankfully Muddy Buddy is being adopted! Almost and Phoebe have no home offers and no funds. We are all praying for a Easter miracle for Almost and Phoebe.
New horses have been added to the website. Four yearlings who are at risk to be sold for a local rodeo horse tripping events are $75.00 each. We have raised almost all funds for them, but they need HOME OFFERS!! With lots of TLC and good care, they have the potential to be very good horses.
Cappucino Kid, (CK), was also listed. He is a registered TB gelding, and half brother to Medaglia d'Oro and recently won just under $250,000 for his owners. A friend of SOS found and talked to a woman who was an exerciser for NorCal and had many morning rides on CK. He is so eager and very hard to hold back. She explained that CK is known as a distance horse and because of numbers that he ran, an old class horse. He is very well known in CA, not because of large purses but because of his eagerness and tenacity. He was starting to get worn down, but he has such a big heart that he doesn't want to stop. He has been used very hard and it is felt that nice retirement home would be best for him. His bail has been generously donated by a wonderful woman from Maine. He has been pulled from the lot and he is safe and cozy in a nice stall at the Lazy Spur tonight. He still needs a place to call home!!
There are three other horses listed; Leno, Cowgirl (APHA) and Lula. These horses along with the yearlings have until thursday to find a home.
Jackpot who also had until Thursday, was sold by the feedlot owner today.
Again, thanks to everyone for your support both financially and emotionally. Enjoy your Easter dinners!
March 5, 2008Hello all! I hope the weather has been kind in your area and hopefully spring will be upon us all very soon! Three new horses were recently listed. Judd, Millie and Slipper, along with Mamie, only have until tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm to find a home. Mamie and Slipper are perfect for anyone needing a safe and steady mount, these gentle old souls are definitely worthwhile to consider!! Mille is a registered appendix quarter horse filly. She has loads of potential, a great western prospect!! Judd has a big heart! He needs someone to give him the time and lovin' he deserves. He probably hasn't been ridden in awhile, so needs a few refreshers and would then make that perfect trail horse for the coming spring and summer!
Mrs. Beasley was thankfully pulled from the lot last week. She still needs a home. Anyone interested in this mare or the other horses listed, please contact one of us!
Update on Ms. Emma-she is now in QT and will soon be heading off to training. We at SOS have agreed to sponsor her while she is training as we feel in order for her to find that forever home, training is required for her, especially at the age she is at now. We hope after about 60 days of training, she will be ready for adoption! We will keep you updated on her progress!
Thanks again for everyone's support and compassion. It is truly amazing what we can accomplish when we all have the same passion at heart and that is simply the love for horses and our neverending promise to always stand up and fight for them until we have finally won this battle.
February 23, 2008WOW!! All 6 horses listed were saved, including one extra mare, Emma! Shawna was at the lot pulling Samson, Shaw, Poco, Jane, Minnie Pearl and Scotty when Emma caught her eye. Emma was in the pen with the horses that were tagged and ready to ship the next day at noon. She was so cute, sticking her head through the fence at her, following her around the lot and wanting to get on the trailer with the others, Shawna just knew she had to try to do something! She called us right away and in just a few minutes we had Emma up on the Rescues Only board. The support and love that came through for Emma was amazing!! By early the next morning her bail had been met and the feedlot owner was called and he kept Emma off the truck! Thank you to everyone who came through for this lovely mare. She still needs a home, so anyone, if interested please contact one of us.
Two new horses have been listed, both older and very skinny quarter horse mares. They are both good for kids to grandmas!! A few more will be listed within the next couple of days.
Congrats to the new adopters and a big thank you and hug to everyone who helped get these horses to safety. You all are truly making a difference in this world. The love, compassion, empathy and respect I see everyday overwhelms me and renews that energy and enthusiam needed to continue fighting for these innocent souls. Keep fighting everyone and one day....we will overcome!! |
